Questions

HR on Call and fractional CHRO

How fast will you respond?

Same or next business day for On Call, with priority response for Fractional HR. If something is truly urgent, like a termination tomorrow or a complaint today, reach out and we will make it work.

What if I go over my hours?

We flag it before you do, so there are no surprise invoices. Extra time is billed at your member rate, or you move up a tier if you are consistently using more.

How is this different from just buying the templates?

The templates give you the documents. HR on Call gives you the documents and a person, someone to call when a template is not enough and you need judgment on your specific situation. The full template library is included in every retainer.

Is there a long contract?

Retainers run month to month after a short initial term, and you can cancel with notice. The goal is to be worth keeping, not to lock you in.

Is this legal advice?

No. It is HR guidance from a 20-year HR executive, not legal advice. When a matter genuinely needs an attorney, we tell you plainly and can refer vetted employment counsel.

Questions

Live HR Workshops

I'm not in New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania. Is this still for me?

Yes. Every class teaches the federal framework that applies everywhere, plus how to find and handle your state's rules, and the live Q&A works through your state's specifics case by case.

Why is there no free webinar or trial class?

Live time is the most valuable thing about these workshops, so it isn't given away. The Penny story and the free guides are there to help you decide whether the classes fit before you spend a dollar.

What if I miss a class I bought?

Every class is recorded and posted within 24 hours. Bundle buyers can also attend any future cycle of the same class within 12 months. Single class buyers get the recording and the workbook.

Can I take just one class, or do I have to do all four?

Single classes are $197 each, and Class 4 is $247. Each class stands on its own, with no prerequisites. Most owners start with the class that addresses their most pressing concern and add others later.

How big are the classes?

Capped at 30 attendees, because larger classes can't sustain real Q&A. Once a class is full, you go on the waitlist for the next cycle, which is no more than 8 weeks away.

Is this a substitute for a lawyer?

No. This is HR education, not legal advice. When you need legal counsel, especially during active investigations or pending litigation, we will tell you, and we have a network of employment attorneys to refer to.

Questions

Workplace investigations

When should I bring in a third-party investigator instead of handling it internally?

Bring in a third party when the complaint involves harassment, discrimination or a protected class issue, when the conduct involves an executive or someone in HR, when the situation could result in litigation, when you've already received an EEOC charge, or when you want the protection of an objective record. For most owners, the right first move is the 60-minute consultation.

How fast can you start?

All consultation requests get a response within 24 hours, and most consultations happen the same week. Standard investigations typically begin within 3 to 5 business days of the engagement letter being signed. Active EEOC charges and imminent litigation are prioritized.

Do you work with my employment attorney?

Yes, frequently. When appropriate, Luman Group coordinates with employment counsel on scope, privilege, work product and document handling. Many investigations begin with a call between Meghan and the company's outside counsel.

Are investigations confidential?

Yes. Engagement letters include confidentiality terms. Witness interviews are conducted privately, and findings are shared only with the people you authorize. Privilege questions depend on how the engagement is structured, so Luman Group coordinates with your counsel when they matter.

Questions

Family Caregiver Hire-in-a-Box

Which state edition should I choose?

Choose the state where your loved one receives care. If you coordinate care from another state, start with the care recipient's state, not your own. Moving does not automatically transfer eligibility or benefits.

What does a $199 edition include?

A digital PDF toolkit with state-specific guidance, a pathway finder, forms, checklists, scripts, filled-in examples, hiring and payroll basics, caregiver training material and backup care planning. Personal support and payroll provider service are separate purchases.

Will the kit mean I can get paid as a caregiver?

Not by itself. Eligibility, which relatives may be hired, approved hours and pay arrangements depend on the program and the family's circumstances. Confirm the rules with the relevant program before beginning paid work.

Do I need to buy a kit to apply for a public program?

No. The kit and support services are optional. You can contact public programs and their designated support providers directly. Luman Group does not sell faster approval, priority on a waitlist, or access to government benefits.

Does Concierge process payroll or provide respite care?

Concierge helps prepare payroll information and resolve administrative questions. Your payroll provider or required fiscal intermediary processes payments and its contracted tax filings. Respite support means resource research and backup care planning, not providing a caregiver or promising coverage.

Questions

HR toolkits

Are the toolkits legal advice?

No. The Luman Group tools are educational and template-based. For situation-specific guidance, work with an employment attorney, or bring the situation to HR on Call.

Can I use the templates for more than one business?

A purchase covers one business. Consultants and advisors who want to use Luman materials across client businesses can email meghan@luman-group.com about a multi-business license.

Can I get a refund on a download?

Digital downloads and courses are delivered instantly, so sales are final. If a file is defective or you received the wrong product, email us and we will replace it or fix your access.

Do the free tools need a sign-up?

No. The worker classification tool, the I-9 trainer and the offer letter builder demo open right in your browser, with nothing to sign up for.
